Lovely 64 kilobytes all in all. Winner of the Icing 1996 Amiga 64k competition. Music: Supernao.
For Sunday mornings:
Alien EP. Daniel Bell a.k.a. DBX with Moritz von Oswald. Peacefrog Records. 1993.
I uploaded this clip – sorry about the shitty video but this brutally hard release, Jeopardy Part 2 from UK producer Justin Berkovi, is fantastic. Both sides. You have my word.
Winner of The Party 1997 Amiga AGA competition.
Interesting music by Muffler and Jazz, particularly part two of the demo, at 1:30.
Muffler from Finland is the kid brother of Amiga mod legend Heatbeat.
He later became a pretty well known drum’n’bass producer with releases on Moving Shadow, Formation etc.
This Amiga demo from 1996 was one that marked the end of an era for me, taking demos to a whole new level of design – using (old) effects in a new way. Perhaps not as soulful if you ask a nostalgic tosser like me, but hats off for the production!
Another milestone was that I was never able (and still isn’t) to run Sumea on my Amiga – the hardware requirements are far too high. I had to watch it at a friends place. At home, all I could do was rip the music. Made by Alien. Nice one.
Harsh 1995 acid. Item One was Johannes Heil & Heiko Laux.
Portuguese Ze Mig L’s first release on Djax-Up-Beats, in 1998. The rest is equally good and equally straight.
Click to listen. Mix length: 42:09. This is Cunker 003 side A. Lay your sticky fingers on it here.
Are you a freak?
Track one from the 1996 12″ Dealer on Reference Analogue Audio (HM 12110).
Amazing video by Remco Schuurbiers. This release is about as dirty brown as it gets.
